Thank you. It’s not easy, but it is worthwhile! The first bit of advice I would give is believe in yourself. At times, it isn’t easy, but believe in what you’re doing and stay strong. The bad days aren’t always bad and the good days don’t last! As long as you can learn from everything and move on, that will stand you in good stead! (That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t celebrate or commiserate, because of course you should! But don’t get caught up in the highs or the lows as you will have lots of both.)

Book-wise, I’ve not read too much! Spare Room Start Up by Emma Jones is a good place to start. The two books I mentioned above are worth reading too. I devour cake and recipe books and I look for inspiration everywhere. As you said above, planning is important and I have lists everywhere! I learn more from reading blogs these days as they seem more current.

Finally, I’d say there’s a lot of help out there and people are generous with their time. Don’t be afraid to ask and you’re never on your own (though sometimes when my pc isn’t doing what I want it to it seems like I am!). Good luck and enjoy it! You’re following your dream and you have to remember that!

“…having a cake company is about so much more than being able to bake a nice cake and make it look pretty!” That’s so true. I’ve had a lot of support (and maybe a bit of pressure!) from my friends to start my own cake company. But now that I’m in the process of doing it, I think they don’t understand that it’s a lot more complicated than baking and why I struggle somethimes to make decisions.
Hopefully, I’ll get there… Someday. Before 2020 I hope!
